Shop Collide: Gulf e-commerce with local payments and live warehouse stock

For Shop Collide, a Bahrain-based fashion, jewellery and home boutique, we built the integrations that make Gulf e-commerce work: Credimax and other local payment gateways, connections to the courier and shipping companies that deliver orders, and real-time stock sync with the warehouse.

Client: Shop Collide

  • WooCommerce
  • WordPress
  • Credimax
  • Gulf payment gateways
  • Courier integrations
  • Real-time warehouse sync

Challenge

Shop Collide sells a curated mix of fashion, jewellery, interior pieces and gifts from independent brands and artists, to customers in Bahrain, across the GCC and worldwide. Off-the-shelf e-commerce defaults are built for US and European payments and shipping. A Gulf boutique needs different ones.

The store had to:

  • take payments through the gateways Gulf shoppers actually use, next to Visa and Mastercard
  • hand orders to courier and shipping companies with very different delivery promises: next business day in Bahrain, three to four business days in the GCC, and four to five to Europe and the rest of the world
  • show accurate stock for one-of-a-kind and small-batch pieces, where a sold-out item has to disappear from the site straight away so it is never sold twice
  • handle cross-border realities such as duties, returns to the warehouse and refunds to the original card
  • keep the experience editorial and premium: a boutique, not a discount marketplace

Approach

The storefront runs on WordPress and WooCommerce with an established commercial theme and extensions. Our custom work sits underneath it, in the payment, shipping and stock integrations.

Local Gulf payment gateways

  • Card payments through Credimax, a Bahrain-based card acquirer, with Visa and Mastercard accepted.
  • Integration with local Gulf payment options alongside cards, including BenefitPay, Bahrain's national wallet.
  • Card data never sits on the store: payments are authorised by the gateway.

Courier and shipping-company integrations

  • Orders connect to the courier and shipping companies that deliver them.
  • Shipping is split by zone (Bahrain, the GCC, Europe and the rest of the world), with delivery charges shown before payment.

Real-time stock and warehouse sync

  • Stock levels sync with the warehouse in real time, so sold-out pieces come off the storefront automatically and customers can't buy something that's gone.
  • Returns go back to the warehouse and into the same stock picture.

Results

  • Live at shopcollide.com, selling from Bahrain to the GCC, Europe and worldwide.
  • Local card payments through Credimax and local wallet options, next to Visa and Mastercard.
  • Stock that stays in sync with the warehouse in real time, so one-of-a-kind pieces aren't oversold.
  • Bahrain orders go out for delivery within one business day of confirmation, per the store's shipping policy.
